BBQ Shrimp Pizza Round Two – Recreating A Previous Meal Kit
Tonight I recreated a previous meal kit, shopping for the ingredients on my own. I found out for sure if the cost of meal kit services are expensive or not.
-
Jerk Chicken Stuffed Poblanos
Pretty good flavors mixed well together, and this jerk chicken poblano meal was a nice change of pace for us.
-
Chow Mein Cod Cakes
Mostly disappointing, although the cod cakes would be pretty good if they were made for sandwiches instead.
-
French Onion Shrimp and Grits
Disappointing even though the shrimp was fantastic and prep and cleanup were a breeze. But the blandness of the grits brought it all down a notch, plus the portion was just too small.
-
Maple Butter Pork Chops With Broccoli Mash and Carrots
While we liked the maple butter on the chops, the meal fell flat otherwise.
-
BBQ Shrimp Pizza with Pico De Gallo
Hours later, I’m still digging on how good this BBQ Shrimp Pizza was. I want to eat this often!
-
Sweety Drop Peppers Risotto
This meal had so many strong flavors competing with one another, it felt like there was a battle being waged in my mouth. Edible, but not something I’d ever want again.

Trying Home Chef For The First Time
I received our first Home Chef meal kit today, so I excitedly un-boxed it. I have a few first impressions of the service, but dinnertime will reveal more details, I’m sure.
