Fun and filling meal with good flavor
Summary
Whew! Dinnerly pulled it off in the end. Each successive meal kit was better than the last, and this one was quite good.
Can Food Be Fun?
I’d classify this meal as a fun meal. Allow me to begin by saying that I was a little wary of those two ears of corn. What the heck was I supposed to do with that??!! The instructions just said to shuck them and cut the corn off the cobs. Well, um, okay… I promptly googled how to shuck corn, and it turned out that shucking corn is pretty easy and kinda fun. Maybe not fun enough to want to shuck corn for a living, you know, but fun for a change of pace kind of thing.
And really, how could little poofy balls of softness not be considered fun. Neither Gail nor I has ever had gnocchi before, so we didn’t really know what to expect. Now we know that gnocchi is a bunch of soft and tasty fun.
Easy To Prep and Easy To Cook
Once you get past the “how do I shuck this thing?” moment, the prep work and cooking process was very easy and quick.
Flavorful and Filling
This meal was pretty darn yummy. And it is so filling that both of us only ate about half the bowl, so now we’ll be able to eat it again later. Cool! The ricotta really makes this dish pop. I’d definitely recommend this one.
Dinnerly Overall
Dinnerly started out on a low note for us, but it progressively got better. Hey, I guess not every dish will knock it out of the park. Priced at half the cost of most other meal kit companies, Dinnerly is worth at least trying once. If you like it, awesome! If not, you haven’t broken the bank while trying it.
