Nice flavor and super simple to make
Summary
This was the second meal kit of our first Dinnerly meal kit box, and thank goodness, it was much better than the first. The dish actually had flavor, and that in itself was a major improvement over the first one we tried.
Super Simple Prep Work
With hardly any ingredients to prep, this dish came together really quickly with almost no effort. That gets major brownie points for me.
Nice Flavors
This was the first time Gail ever had curry of any sort. She wasn’t sure how much she liked it, but she thought it was pretty good. This dish’s flavor didn’t wow us, but it was a nice flavorful, hearty meal. So let’s say it was better than average in flavor, but not great.
The quick and easy preparation and cooking of this meal kit adds major points to the overall rating. Flavor alone would have kept this dish at just “pretty good”.
The Dinnerly Negatives Remain
I’m still not fond of digging around the fridge trying to find the ingredients needed for the dish. And as I knew would happen, when printing the recipe card, I got the dreaded “running out of ink” message on my printer, which really irked me. (I hate printers, but that’s another story). At the rate printers fly through ink, having to print my own recipe cards adds to the cost and time factors in a negative way. But with Dinnerly being half the price (or more than half the price) of other popular meal kit services, there’s still room for cost wiggle there.
